Oil on Canvas 80cm x 30cm – SOLD
Situated on the Hampshire coast at the edge of the New Forest the beach and shingle spit offer panoramic views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. The strategic location at the entrance to Southampton Water prompted Henry VIII to build an artillery fort at the end of the spit in 1539. Sheltered waters behind the spit are popular for watersports and extensive mudflats provide habitat for the local wildlife.
